It all started when Geert and Wouter saw firsthand how much time lenders lose to manual work, fragmented systems, and inconsistent decision-making in mortgage operations. They set out to tackle the problem with a technology-first approach, building agentic AI that can take on repetitive operational work end-to-end.
Having taken mortgage loans themselves, they understood the borrower impact as well as the operational pain inside the bank. Based in Antwerp, they founded Oper with a clear goal: help European lenders deliver faster decisions and a better mortgage experience by putting reliable AI agents like Herman to work within existing workflows.
